Paw Haven features 4 large, individual play yards. These yards give us the opportunity to group dogs according to their size and or temperament. Our dorm and campus has over 15,000 square feet of open space for your beloved furball to run around, network with others, engage in vigorous doggy debates, or just muse peacefully in the fresh air.

Our play yards feature large garage doors for direct access to our outdoor turf where dogs can romp in the sun, take a dip in the bone bath, get some exercise on our dog-friendly obstacles, or chill in the shade.

Paw Haven features Snyder Manufacturing dog runs for pups who choose to spend the night with us. Snyder uses proven materials and high-quality parts to create a comfortable, safe space for your pet. All boarding runs feature sani-seal to create a barrier between runs for a clean space for your pet. We offer three different boarding sizes for your pooch so they can feel as comfy as possible during their stay with us.

Our facility is deliberately designed to help our visiting pets stay calm, peaceful, and playful during their visit. Our fear free facility makes use of muted animal-friendly colors, privacy panels and soothing music in our boarding enclosures, and dog and cat-specific pheromones to help your pet have the best day possible.

When the dogs are away, the cats will play! Paw Haven has lots of love (and space) for our feline friends too! Our cat condo features a separate HVAC system so that our kitties can’t sniff out their canine classmates. The cat condos include individual litter boxes and privacy panels. Each cat gets social time to climb around the cat castle or nuzzle with our staff throughout the day.

Our historic facility used to be home to a trolley factory and came complete with some incredible skylighting and windows overlooking New Haven's skyline. We were excited to keep and maintain these useful sources of natural light for our pups in the play yards.

We have a number of safety protocols in place to protect your furry family member. For instance, all dogs who are part of our pack play must pass a temperament evaluation before they can frolic with the others. Additionally, there are at least two doors between any animal and our front of house and pets are supervised by staff in the yards at all times. Additionally, we strive to offer the cleanest facility around all while only using pet-friendly cleaning solutions.

For the adventurous pups out there, our facility comes with interchangable obstacles and playgrounds designed to promote play in the yard all while keeping your pup's safety top of mind. Our feline friends can also climb our cat castle and get some extra exercise on our cat wheel in between cat naps.

In the warmer months, your pup will have the opportunity to jump in our large bone-shaped bath in the outdoor yard, filled with cool water that is regularly replaced to keep it clean and enjoyable.

+ Soothing music and pet-specific pheromones

A calm, serene environment is essential for a good night's sleep. Paw Haven plays soothing music for our furry friends who spend the night with us, and we also mix dog and cat-specific pheromones throughout our HVAC system to lessen pet anxiety.

+ Daily report cards

Each cat or dog who spends the day at Paw Haven will receive a report card detailing their activities throughout the day such as who they played with and what their demeanor was like. Of course report cards come complete with adorable pics of your furry friend!

+ In-house grooming services

Paw Haven offers a variety of light grooming services including baths, blowouts, nail trims, and tooth brushing. Pick your pup up after a stay with us looking and smelling their best!

+ Certified Professional Animal Care Operator (CPACO)

Paw Haven's General Manager, Jon, is one of two Certified Professional Animal Care Operators(CPACO) in the state of CT. Jon is part of an elite group of pet care professionals who have successfully demonstrated their comprehensive pet care knowledge and passion for pet safety. To qualify as a CPACO, Jon had to pass an in-depth 175-question examination, which covered animal care topics including health, nutrition, dog fight and bite protocol, on-leash and off-leash interaction, sanitation, dog behavior and temperament, dog body language, dog training, animal and handler safety, vaccination protocol, workflow management, pathogen control, and emergency care. To initially qualify, Jon had to meet minimum education requirements, have a minimum of five years of experience with at least one year in an operator position, maintain membership in a pet-related association or organization, engage in ongoing community service, and provide letters of reference from veterinarians and other pet care industry professionals.
